Visual Fundamentals is an evolving series of essays exploring how images communicate meaning.
This is not intended as a technical manual or a set of rules. It is an ongoing body of research arising from more than fifteen years of professional and personal visual practice.
The work considers how images are felt as well as read: how perception, atmosphere, rhythm and relationships shape meaning before anything is explained.
