A wordmark designed to be entered, crossed and inhabited.

METROPOLIS begins with a restricted alphabet of parallel strokes. Each letter is assembled from the same small family of structural parts.

Perspective then turns those parts into streets, thresholds and vertical spaces. The title stops behaving like type on a surface and becomes the setting for its own reveal.

The final lock-up compresses that imagined city back into a precise graphic signal, retaining the depth and rhythm of the architecture that formed it.

A city built from one line system.

A shared grid controls width, interval and repetition across every glyph.

The construction drawings preserve both the finished letters and the parts from which they can be rebuilt.

Title construction / Weight and resolve01

Letters become streets, towers and thresholds.

The letterforms are expanded into an environment rather than replaced by one. Their repeated strokes and junctions become corridors, towers and compressed horizons.

Working at architectural scale tests rhythm, hierarchy and depth. Those same decisions are retained when the system contracts back into the final wordmark.

The viewer travels through the title before reading it.

Storyboards test entry, traversal and assembly as parts of the typography move between graphic and environmental scale.

The word is revealed through passage rather than presented as a static end card.

Architecture returns to signal.

The final title is the architecture compressed back into a single plane. The beams that defined streets and towers become the parallel strokes of each glyph; their spacing and junctions remain intact.

Material, light and atmosphere then control how much of that construction is revealed. An intermediate state spaces every glyph evenly across the frame, bridging the architectural letterforms and the more compressed atmospheric title.
